Privacy Policy for StepUp Trainer & Trainee Apps

StepUp ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information when you use the StepUp Trainer App or StepUp Trainee App in India. These apps let trainers manage batches, take attendance, and log performance while trainees enroll in programs and track their progress. 1. Information We Collect

From Trainees

  • Account information such as name, Indian mobile number, email address, and optional enrollment or referral codes.
  • OTP-based login information for secure access.
  • Batch selections, saved locations, and training preferences you store locally on your device.
  • Enrollment details such as assigned batch, schedule, attendance history, and trainer interactions.
  • Performance metrics, assessments, and feedback you submit within the app.
  • Optional profile information such as emergency contacts, personal goals, or other dynamic fields you decide to share.

From Trainers

  • Admin-created account information including name, mobile number, email, age, avatar, Aadhaar, teaching credentials, payout/bank details, and employment records.
  • OTP-based login information.
  • Work information such as assigned batches, attendance submissions, trainee performance summaries, and on-site notes that trainers add to the platform.
  • Profile and verification details captured by Admin during onboarding.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to create and manage accounts, send OTPs for secure authentication, map trainers and trainees to batches, process attendance, track performance, deliver app notifications (schedule changes, reminders, trainer updates), share program insights, and continually improve platform performance and user experience. Trainers may also receive administrative communications about payout summaries or compliance requirements.

3. How We Do Not Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. We do not record or store sensitive payment credentials such as UPI PINs; payouts and payments are completed directly within your payment app.

4. Data Storage and Security

Trainee preferences saved locally (batch filters, bookmarked content) remain on your device. Personal details, batch rosters, attendance logs, session notes, and trainer documents are stored on secure servers with industry-standard safeguards. Access to sensitive trainer information (Aadhaar, certifications, bank details) is restricted to authorized StepUp Admins on a need-to-know basis.

5. Your Rights

  • Access, update, or delete account information.
  • Request permanent deletion of your account and data.
  • Decline to provide optional profile information without impacting core functionality.
  • Unsubscribe from promotional emails whenever you choose.

6. Children's Privacy

StepUp programs focus on vocational, wellness, and skill development journeys. Trainees under 18 should use the app with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.

7. Notifications

Both apps may send push notifications for attendance reminders, session updates, trainer assignments, or important announcements. You can disable notifications any time in your device settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will appear in the app and take effect immediately upon publication.
